Started as a cooperative project between Byron Benavente and Bella Vista mill, this project supporting small producers in the San Pedro Necta region in Huehuetenango, Guatemala began with 7 smallholders. In 2015, the cooperative grew to 15 small producers, then expanded further in 2017 to 35, and 46 producers and families as of 2019. Producers in Jolimex continue to produce outstanding coffees despite the effects of climate change on the region. Varietals from this region include Bourbon, Yellow Bourbon, Caturra, and Catuai.
